Parenting for Everyone: What is it?
This philosophy looks into parenting from the ethical point of view. It analyses the means, goals and conditions of parenting. It considers parenting successful only after taking a look at the child’s internal world. If the child is intelligent, emotionally secure and highly spirited, then we can say that parenting has been successful. The term ‘intelligence’ refers to the child’s morals, ‘emotion’ refers to the child’s ability to love and be considerate towards others and ‘spirited’ means the child’s desire to do any good action and stay away from the bad ones. The child should have dignified approach towards life.
While bringing up a child, care should be taken to create strong emotional attachment. If physical punishment is avoided and the child is disciplined keeping in mind his/her emotional needs then a lot can be achieved. Each and every child should get due importance. Too much praise and punishment is not recommended for children. Different types of method should be adopted for bringing up children.
